About the course

The degree covers classic computer engineering as well as training in cybersecurity, so students can shield digital systems and data from ongoing cyber attacks. Participants are taught programming, algorithms, networks, cryptography, ethical hacking and cyber defense strategies in the course.Students will learn how to carry out threat analysis, design secure software, conduct penetration testing and handle risk management with common cybersecurity industry tools. Students are introduced to solving problems, managing responses to incidents and exploring topics related to law and ethics in cyber defense.At Abertay University, students work with real-life simulations, practice hands-on in laboratories and gain experience working with industry partners to learn cyber security techniques (Abertay Cybersecurity).TU Delft’s department of Security and Privacy covers the basics of computer science while advancing research in network security, encryption and ways to uphold a person’s privacy (TU Delft Cybersecurity).Students at UNSW Sydney get hands-on with cybersecurity projects and use the university’s top security research resources (UNSW Cyber Security).At CMU Cybersecurity (USA), students are offered current courses and training in secure software engineering, studying cyber threats and digital forensics, all supported by strong partnerships with industry experts.At Waterloo (Canada), University of Waterloo includes significant computer science fundamentals along with courses in malware analysis, cloud security and building secure systems, along with work placements (Waterloo Cybersecurity).At the University of London’s Royal Holloway, students benefit from research-based courses in cryptography and information security that readies them for jobs in government, financial services and the tech industry.They are qualified to work as cybersecurity analysts, ethical hackers, security consultants and digital forensic investigators in various fields.
