About the course

The course puts together traditional business management skills with specific education for planning, executing and assessing events. While gathering the basic knowledge needed in business, students also learn skills for handling event logistics, securing sponsors, evaluating risks, focusing on customer satisfaction and creating marketing plans. Topics in modules span project management, organizing finances, designing environmentally friendly events and leadership in hospitality and the creative industries. Students at Abertay University get practical experience by setting up live events and joining forces with community groups (Abertay Events Management). Students at the University of Derby are introduced to studies of real events and gain skills in using digital tools for running their event promotions and ticket management (University of Derby Events Management). Bournemouth University is famous for its tourism and hospitality courses, with a focus on international event planning, along with placement opportunities with popular industry businesses (BU Events Management). Surrey University allows students to understand major worldwide events such as sports and cultural festivals and helps them build the ability to make decisions using data (Surrey Business & Events). At Griffith University, students get plenty of experience with sustainable event management and interactions with the industry which prepares them for event management jobs in both communities and companies (Griffith Event Management).In the US, UCF is renowned for offering one of the largest hospitality programs and event management there emphasizes building skills as a leader and having practical experiences.
