About the course

If you have already earned an Art, Foundation Degree or similar qualification in art or design, this BA (Hons) Art Business (Top-up) is designed for you to progress your studies in the business and management of art. During one year of full-time study (or two years part-time), students gain special knowledge in topics that include marketing, management in galleries and museums, arts administration, curation and cultural policy. By completing the course, students are equipped to work behind the scenes in the creative industries, concentrating on business, strategy and organisation issues related to art and culture. The course helps students learn project planning, managing events, finance and dealing with audiences who love art. With case studies, presentations and practical work, students get to know how businesses, galleries and institutions in the arts should be managed. This curriculum is designed for people interested in careers such as arts administration, gallery management, managing auctions, art consultation or programming in the cultural sector.
