About the course

This BA (Hons) Art and Design with Creative Technologies at Birmingham City University combines traditional arts and design with the latest digital approaches. By taking this program, students are prompted to use different kinds of media and explore technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 3D scanning, interactive installations, projection mapping and creative coding. While in specialist facilities and using modern industry software, students learn and enhance their conceptual, technical and practical skills. Students in the course take part in team projects that help them solve real-world problems and assemble a mixed portfolio of creative and technical works. Because they work on creative tasks and projects, graduates are ready for various jobs in such fields as digital media, design, games, immersive experiences and creative technology. An additional option in the program is the Professional Placement Year, where students work within creative companies, agencies or studios to gain experience and build connections, making them more attractive to employers.
