About the course

The dynamic way the BA (Hons) Art and Design program is taught at Birmingham City University prepares students for various careers in the changing world of art and design. Because the course is at the Margaret Street School of Art where historical workshops and studios are available, students have a chance to explore and refine their individual styles. The curriculum encourages students to join forces, think logically and use different media and methods. Live projects, links with businesses and job experiences allow students to build a portfolio and gain experience needed in their industry. The program includes a Creative Technologies route that enables students to work on digital skills and new approaches. People who finish this degree can follow careers in art, design, digital media and similar creative areas, using knowledge of different artistic traditions.
