About the course

If you are interested in studying the past but don’t meet the usual criteria for a degree course, the BA (Hons) Archaeology with Foundation Year is right for you. In the foundation year, learners learn how to research and build skills in history, heritage and the social sciences.Through this initial year, students are set up to move forward in the full undergraduate archaeology program. The purpose of education is to improve important skills such as critical thinking, writing good academic work and being proficient online—all useful for doing well in college. In addition, learners discover the basic ideas of archaeology and cultural heritage which supports their progress ahead.After the foundation year, the course combines theoretical instruction with practical work. Fieldwork, analyzing in laboratories and digital tools such as GIS are part of what students experience. Main courses are designed to focus on material culture, archaeological science, environmental archaeology and heritage management. The topic of identity, religion, conflict and society changing is also studied in the course using an archaeological approach.During the program, students are assisted by seasoned experts with their studies and practical skills. Experiences on field trips and excavations add a lot to student learning and teaming up with museums and heritage organizations gives students valuable experience.Those who graduate can work as archaeologists, in museums, with cultural heritage, in education or in conservation or continue their education. The program places importance on learning tasks, ethics and reflecting, helping students be ready for various heritage and cultural jobs.Studying there, where there is so much history and archeological history, allows students an in-depth introduction to the field of archaeology.

 

Foundation Year + Undergraduate Degree (ICAS):

• Duration: 4 years
• Entry Requirements: a minimum grade point average of 50%
• Initial Deposit: 75% before CAS
• UKVI SELT required: 6.0 overall with no score less than 5.5 for each component
• PTE: 59 overall and in each component

Bachelors:

• Duration: 3 years
• Entry Requirements:
• An applicant with 70% in Intermediate is eligible for UG
• DAE 58% is also eligible for direct UG entry.
• For A Levels UCAS 96 with 3 B can be accepted for a direct bachelor.
• UG direct entry program with 2 years b.com/bsc – minimum required – 60%

– IELTS A minimum overall score of 6.0, with no individual component scoring below 5.5, accepted for both Academic and UKVI versions.
• For UG & PG: 6 overall with no element below 5
• For Health UG Prog: 8 overall with no element below 7
• Non-standard postgraduate programs: 7 overall with no element below 6

– TOEFL (IBT 46 overall, with 7 in listening, 16 in Speaking, 8 in Reading, and 18 in writing)
