This course is built for those keen to know how and why animals behave the way they do. This course includes both academic learning and practical applications, looking at animal cognition, learning, communication, social behaviour and welfare. Field trips, laboratory experiments and working outdoors help students develop practical skills by studying many types of animals in different surroundings. The program is taught by experienced scientists, who highlight scientific methods for animal observation and study as well as issues related to animal welfare and protecting them. After completing their degree, students have the skills needed for careers in animal welfare, research, conservation or for studying veterinary science or zoology further.
