About the course

Students will receive expert training in accounting and finance and how the law helps shape the operation of businesses and financial markets. It discusses main accounting topics such as reporting and management, together with lessons on business law, corporate governance, contract law and financial regulations. People aspiring to work in areas where finance and law come together, for example, in advisory work, compliance, risk management and financial regulation, will find this ideal. The program helps learners better read and explain financial laws, recognize the legal consequences of financial decisions and move around in regulated fields easily. Students in this combined degree at the University of Stirling, UK, are taught how to use law in finance (Stirling Accounting & Finance with Law). For those at the University of British Columbia interested in governance, business law and accounting are closely integrated into their program (UBC Accounting and Law). UNSW Law & Commerce is a joint dual degree program that fully teaches students about both law and commerce. The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in the US teaches accounting along with courses in business law (UPenn Accounting & Law). The program covers legal and accounting studies from a European point of view at Bocconi University, based in Italy (Bocconi Law & Accounting).
